Why start yet another timber mill.
Especially when hardwood timber for building is on the decline.
Nowadays almost everyone builds in pine. Yes, green poisonous CCA (copper, cromate, and arsenic) treated pine. This type of timber does the job, but is not the sort of wood that you would call beautiful or relaxing.

All of our timber is natural.

Within the timber industry we are known as the “Greenie” Loggers. This is due to our passion and deep love of the bush. It is also an indicator of the extra trouble we go to protect the forest when we are harvesting it.

Our idea is to leave it better than we found it.

It is the belief of the owners of Byron Specialty Timber that the forests are a totally sustainable resource which should be managed for the benefit of all, both present and future generations
